What are you doing for Mother's Day this year? For your mother or favorite mother figure or for yourself? Why not give the gift of botanical creativity with tea and baked goods for an enjoyable afternoon? Register for the class! You will have the opportunity to connect with other flower enthusiasts and share your love for all things floral. Whether you're a florist or enthusiast, this workshop is designed to inspire and educate. Mothers are busy women who often don't prioritize themselves or creativity. You don't have to be a parent to come to this class though...this is self care as well. We all could nurture or mother ourselves a bit more than we do.
During the Wild at Heart Posey Class, you will be guided through the process of creating a hand-tied bouquet, also known as a posey. This type of bouquet is characterized by its detailed arrangement, using a variety of local flowers and foliages in season. The workshop will also feature some native plants, adding a unique touch to your creation. You will have your choice of beautiful silk or cotton ribbons to add a finishing touch and a goblet vase for your arrangement. There will be boxes, glassine paper and raffia for gifting and transportation of your creation.
One of the highlights of the workshop is the exploration of floriography, also known as the Language of Flowers. During the Victorian era, each bloom was assigned a specific sentiment, allowing people to convey messages through the choice of flowers in their bouquets.
You'll learn about this fascinating tradition and how to incorporate it into your own floral arrangements. Imagine giving someone a bouquet that not only looks beautiful but also carries a floral message! There will be several resources to reference, pretty cardstock and pens to make a personal card.
As you immerse yourself in the art of floral design, you'll be treated to delicious teas from Flying Bird Botanicals. Their carefully crafted blends will enhance your class, allowing you to sip on aromatic flavors while you create. Additionally, a selection of baked goods from a local bakery will be provided, including vegan and GF options.
Attending the Wild at Heart Posey Class is not only a wonderful experience for Mother's Day but also a great opportunity to treat yourself. Taking the time to learn and create with botanicals in a beautiful, light-filled classroom is a gift in itself. Leave time before or after to explore 21 Acres as well.
